All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers engaged in contract negotiations throughout the summer. Seemingly, things didn’t go well, thus the previous first-round selection withdrew the required minicamp. He’s still holding on from boot camp, too. In an effort to secure a lucrative long-term contract, 26-year-old Aiyuk also asked the 49ers for a trade. There aren’t many encouraging things to report going into Week 1 against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. “Things have grown pretty awkward. Talks have become more difficult since the receiver market has grown to be worth around $30 million, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN over the weekend. “Negotiations have not resulted in Aiyuk receiving what he believes he is worth from the 49ers.
