NFL Organization’s Mike Garafolo revealed around 1 p.m. ET that All-Master beneficiary Brandon Aiyuk has mentioned an exchange from the 49ers because of slowed down agreement expansion talks. Around 30 seconds after the fact, Lenoir was live broadcasting in real time.

“God help us, this can’t be valid,” Lenoir said.

Lenoir and Aiyuk have been colleagues since the cautious back was chosen by San Francisco in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft. The two made right a few times in school too, with Lenoir beginning for Oregon and Aiyuk at Arizona State in the Pac-12.

Aiyuk has been the 49ers’ driving beneficiary the beyond two seasons. He got 75 passes for 1,342 getting yards with seven scores in 16 games a year ago.

“He’s critical to our offense,” Lenoir said. “The stuff he can do, how much targets he had and the creation is best in class. Hearing that news [of the exchange request] is somewhat insane.”

The 49ers have experienced comparable circumstances lately. In 2022, star recipient Deebo Samuel mentioned an exchange April prior to consenting to an agreement expansion in July. Last year, star pass rusher Scratch Bosa held out of instructional course until marking a record $170 million expansion in September.

“We love you, brother,” Lenoir said. “We got to take care of business. Ideally, nothing serious occurs. Simply stay prepared and we should go win that [Super] Bowl.”
