Ruben visits Clovis to learn about a motorplex that is fostering a motocross community. John Nichols, partner of Beast Mode Motorplex, explains that it is a passion project of a local Kawasaki and Yamaha dealer called Beast Mode Power Sports.
“Basically, we just want to build a community around the shop and around riding because riding used to be really big here in Clovis,” he says.
We’re just trying to give people a place to ride that is safe in a controlled environment,” said Nichols. Nichols says many people will say there’s nothing to do and it’s in the middle of nowhere. “It’s not really the middle of nowhere. There’s loads of stuff to do, people just have to see it,” said Nichols. Nichols said the airmen stationed in Clovis are young folks who want to pursue a variety of interests. “A lot of them are power sports related and they need a safe place to go and do them, so we’re providing that place for them,” says Nichols.
